Iris is passionate about Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution. She has provided legal counsel to various companies on matters including labor law, real estate and property acquisition, shareholder disputes, commercial transactions, and corporate governance.
As a seasoned litigator, Iris has successfully represented clients at all levels of the judicial system, including the Supreme Court of Ghana, securing multi-million-cedi judgments in land litigation and complex commercial disputes.
As the firm’s leading advocate in family law, she has represented several high-profile individuals in high-stakes divorce settlements worth millions of U.S. dollars. She has also handled international parental abduction cases between Ghana and the United States, as well as numerous local and international adoptions. Her expertise extends to complex probate litigation.
She earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Commercial Law from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2014. In this field, she has played a key role in corporate debt restructuring, enabling companies to remain solvent. Additionally, she has advised a major local bank on a share subscription issue and has been involved in shareholder litigation and corporate governance disputes.
Iris also serves as company secretary for several boards, including Garden City Mall Ltd. In 2023, she obtained a certificate in Arbitration Counsel training from SOAS University of London in collaboration with the Ghana Arbitration Centre.
Beyond her legal practice, Iris is actively engaged in the day-to-day management of the firm and oversees client portfolios. She also plays a vital role in the firm’s business development efforts, focusing on client relationship management, strategic partnerships, and legal innovation. Additionally, she is responsible for overseeing trainee associates and interns, mentoring them in litigation, corporate law, and professional development.
A strong advocate for women’s rights, she is deeply committed to supporting victims of domestic violence. Outside of work, she enjoys nature, flowers, gardening, and art.
